New 50mph speed limit on A4361
After over 8 years of working with Wiltshire Council on safety improvements on the A4361, the stretch from the Salthrop / Uffcot junction to The Weir is now 50mph. Although this won't stop all drivers from speeding, it will warn some of the dangers of this stretch of road. Lowering the speed limit will also make it easier to enforce the safer speed. New bus timetables start today - Sunday 12th April 2026

Road surface repairs in Winterbourne Bassett, 1-3 April 2026
An update from the Wiltshire Council Senior Engineer. "As consultant representative for Wiltshire Council, I write to inform you of surface dressing and associated works programmed on C120 - C121 to UC East of Lambourne Ground. The site extents plans can be viewed on the attached drawing. These works involve application of surface dressing, associated treatments and reinstatement of road markings where required. Annual Litter Pick in Broad Hinton, Winterbourne Bassett and Uffcott
The annual litter pick brought together over 50 residents from Broad Hinton, Winterbourne Bassett and Uffcott. The most successful yet!!! Armed with litter pickers, bags, gloves, volunteers spread out across the villages and nearby lanes to clear away litter, report fly-tipping on MyWilts , and improve the local environment.
