Site Allocation
The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has been working through the process of identifying potential sites for development. We are using a guide created by Locality which is a national government network helping neighbourhood planning groups. You can look at the whole guide from the link below.
At the open meetings in January we showed you the sites which we had identified, and you added others which you would like to be included. These sites were all sent off to AECOM.
AECOM is a specialist company which assesses sites independently on behalf of Locality. The following links show a summary of the AECOM assessment, the full report and a plan view of potential housing sites.
Next Steps
This site assessment is just one of the steps in the consideration of site allocations.
From the shortlist of potentially Suitable and Available sites identified, the Steering Group will engage with Wiltshire Council, landowners, and the community to explore options for site allocations in the Neighbourhood Plan which best meet the objectives of the Neighbourhood Plan and the development needs of the neighbourhood area.
We will be holding public meetings in the early autumn to present a set of options and consult with the community on them.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments, please contact the Steering Group on: bhwbuf.neighbourhoodplan@gmail.com or talk to one of us.
