Our Neighbourhood Development Plan has been "made"

We are pleased to announce that Wiltshire Council formally “made” the Broad Hinton, Winterbourne Bassett and Uffcott Neighbourhood Development Plan 2025-2038 on 21 October 2026.

The Plan is now part of the statutory Development Plan. Its policies carry full weight when Wiltshire Council decides planning applications in our parishes.

The referendum result

The referendum was held on 24 September 2026. Of those who voted, 251 (84.2%) were in favour and 47 (15.8%) were against, on a turnout of 49.02%. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote.

How we got here

The neighbourhood area was designated in November 2021. The Parish Council submitted the draft Plan to Wiltshire Council in November 2025, and an independent examination followed. The examiner concluded in June 2026 that, with modifications, the Plan met the basic conditions and could go to referendum.

This was a long process, and it would not have been possible without the residents, volunteers and others who gave their time, shared their views and supported the Plan along the way. Thank you all.
