Broad Hinton & Winterbourne Bassett Parish Council

After over 8 years of working with Wiltshire Council on safety improvements on the A4361, the stretch from the Salthrop / Uffcot junction to The Weir is now 50mph. Although this won't stop all drivers from speeding, it will warn some of the dangers of this stretch of road. Lowering the speed limit will also make it easier to enforce the safer speed. The annual litter pick brought together over 50 residents from Broad Hinton, Winterbourne Bassett and Uffcott. The most successful yet!!! Armed with litter pickers, bags, gloves, volunteers spread out across the villages and nearby lanes to clear away litter, report fly-tipping on MyWilts , and improve the local environment. The finger post at the junction of Post Office Lane had been knocked over and on investigation had significant rot. Thanks to Cllr. Ade Rudler and Cllr. Tony Iles for repairing, repainting and installing the post, getting it back to its former glory!!!
