The Parish Council is pleased to announce the installation of a new Speed Indication Device (SID) on Yew Tree Lane. The SID will operate at two locations:
Facing towards the school outside the Village Hall
Facing out of the village from the end of Fortunes Field
The sign is fully movable, meaning it could be placed at other locations in the parish in the future to address emerging concerns about speeding.
The device not only alerts drivers to their speed but also records data on all passing vehicles. This information will be used by the Community Speed Watch scheme to identify problem times and focus monitoring efforts where they are most needed.
Our thanks go to David Followell, Chris Wilson, and Cllr. Adam Gilmore for their time and effort in getting the SID installed and operational.
With this new tool, we aim to improve road safety for all residents and visitors to Broad Hinton.
