The Parish Council has been elected for the next 4-year term. Two councillors didn’t stand for re-election, and two new councillors were elected.

The Parish Council wish to thank Alex LaRoche for her service to our community over the past 12 years, serving as a councillor and then as the Chairman for the past 7 years. She carried out her last duties chairing the Annual Parish Meeting on Tuesday 13th May.

Good luck on your travels!!!

The Parish Council also wanted to thank Lesley Catling for her service representing Winterbourne Bassett for the past 4 years.

The Parish Council wish to welcome our two new councillors, Liz Moakes and Adrian Smith. Liz represents the Broad Hinton ward, is the editor of the Local News and has been heavily involved in the Neighbourhood Plan. Adrian represents the Winterbourne Bassett ward and returns to the council after a 4 year break. Cllr. Adrian Smith was elected chair, and Cllr. Adam Gilmore was elected vice-chair.

You can find out more about your Parish Councillors on the PC website - https://www.bhwbparishcouncil.org.uk/who-we-are.

Do you want to help make your community a better place to live and work?

Do you have experience that could benefit your community?

Do you want to represent the views of local people?

We have one councillor place on the Parish Council available to represent Broad Hinton and Uffcott. The council meet for around 2 hours every 2 months to make decisions, and you can give additional time to areas that interest you – helping residents, improving our environment and amenities, and getting involved in projects.

You don’t need to stand in an election as the council is able to “co-opt” candidates and full training and support will be provided.

If you would like to make a difference in your community, get involved by becoming a Parish Councillor.
